Student Ministry

Junior High & High School Ministry

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Mission

Our mission, according to Matthew 28:19-20, is to create and develop disciples who make disciples. Our focus is to equip students with the tools and knowledge needed to share the Gospel, strengthen a Christ-centered relationship, and understand God’s overall calling for the life of a Christian.

Strategy

Students grow mentally, spiritually, and emotionally through four main programs at SouthGate Church: Wednesday/Sunday services, life groups, discipleship groups, and mission work. Each program consecutively guides students through the discipleship pathway enabling growth through worship, community, discipleship, and world change. Discipleship and relationships are our central approaches when connecting with and developing students.

Involvement

Our volunteers play a critical role in moving students through the discipleship pathway as well as engaging in life change! A majority of the student departments’ success rest in the hands of volunteers. Walking volunteers through the Serving Pathway (Discovering, Developing, Deploying) efficiently determines their passion in the midst of serving in ministry.
